We’re proud to announce that Intuition Robotics has been granted its 10th U.S. patent, further solidifying our AI innovation leadership. This latest patent formalizes the mechanism that enables a robotic AI embodiment to perform emotional non-verbal gestures —a key technology that has been instrumental in ElliQ’s ability to connect and engage with users. It is based on Intuition Robotics’ previous patents and in-house developed technology that enable our AI agents to capture the emotional state of the user and direct the tone of the AI generated text accordingly. The semantic features of the generated conversation are then mapped to appropriate non-verbal gestures that are then executed by an embodied AI such as a social robot, enabling contextual AI driven communication, a critical element of human interaction.
While this capability has been integrated into ElliQ for some time, the patent highlights the innovative approach that allows our non-humanoid companion robot to deliver gestures that feel natural, seamless, and contextually relevant. Non-verbal communication is an essential part of how humans interact, and it plays a similarly important role in creating interactions between AI systems and people. This technology illustrates how AI systems can use gestures to foster more emotionally resonant and engaging interactions across a wide range of applications.
A Portfolio Designed to Address Real AI Challenges
This latest patent adds to our growing portfolio of innovations that tackle some of the most significant challenges in AI development—challenges relevant to various AI applications, from healthcare companions to customer service AI. Our patents focus on the core areas needed to create empathetic, proactive, and personalized AI systems, helping AI not just perform tasks but form meaningful connections with users.
Here are just a few examples of the key granted patents that currently power ElliQ and could be relevant to a wide range of AI-driven applications:
Proactive Engagement and Real-Time Feedback
Our patent for real-time feedback collection enables AI systems to continuously learn and adapt based on user interactions. This technology allows an AI to detect whether feedback from the user is required, is it a good time to ask for feedback and to generate the request for the feedback in the context of the conversation. This capacity can significantly accelerate the personalization process by proactively learning the user’s preferences in necessary points during the interaction. In ElliQ, this capability enables personalized proactive engagement, where the companion can suggest reminders, start conversations, or recommend activities tailored to the user’s behavior and preferences, as well as focusing the training process of our LLMs This makes ElliQ feel like an attentive, responsive companion that’s always there to help. Beyond ElliQ, this patent is valuable for any AI system designed for personal assistance, healthcare, or educational applications, where anticipating needs can greatly enhance user experience.
Dynamic Personality Adjustment
Another key patent allows an agent to adapt its personality in real time based on user preferences and interactions. This means that ElliQ isn’t the same for every person—whether users prefer a quiet, reflective companion or a more talkative, lively one, ElliQ can adjust to make interactions feel personalized and meaningful. This type of real-time adaptation is essential not only for companionship but also for AI applications in customer service, healthcare, and other environments where personalization and emotional intelligence are critical to creating satisfying experiences.
Privacy-Aware Interaction
Privacy is a cornerstone of our approach to AI, especially in environments where AI interacts with users in intimate or sensitive settings. Our patent on privacy-aware behavior adaptation ensures that an AI agent can adjust their responses based on the context, protecting personal information and maintaining user trust. This innovation is vital for AI in healthcare, home environments, or any system that handles sensitive data. In the case of ElliQ the agent takes into account guests at home in its decision to proactively discuss health related topics for example.
Emotionally Expressive Gestures
Our latest patent ties many of these innovations together by allowing AI to express empathy through physical gestures. Whether it’s a nod of understanding, a supportive gesture, or a subtle movement, these gestures are key to making AI feel more emotionally intelligent. This capability is important across industries, from companion robots to virtual assistants, where emotional connection can greatly enhance user satisfaction and trust.
Optimizing Resource Usage
One of our earlier patents focuses on the efficient use of resources within embodied AI in robots. This ensures that ElliQ operates smoothly, managing its internal resources to optimize performance without draining power unnecessarily. This type of priority-based resource management is crucial for any AI system designed for long-term, continuous interaction, especially in environments where reliability and longevity are key—whether it’s in personal companionship, healthcare, or broader AI applications requiring sustained performance.
Shaping the Future of AI
As we continue to build on our growing patent portfolio, our mission remains clear: to create AI systems that not only solve problems but also enhance lives by understanding and supporting users in deeply meaningful ways. Our innovations are not limited to one product or application but instead offer a foundation for the next generation of AI technologies.
As Dor Skuler, CEO of Intuition Robotics, says: “This latest patent is more than a technical achievement—it represents our commitment to creating AI that understands and responds to human emotions. We’re pushing the boundaries of what AI agents can do, focusing not just on intelligence but on empathy and long-lasting relationships.”
With our 10th patent, we continue to lead the AI space by creating technologies that are proactive, emotionally intelligent, and deeply aligned with the needs of users across various applications.
